FellowshipRelease Year: 2025 Fellowship is an online multiplayer mmo-style dungeon runner for groups of four players. If you've ever played an MMO and completed a dungeon, that is what Fellowship is. You skip all the leveling normally required to play the end game, while also removing all social interaction that MMOs typically have. Fellowship does a small number of things right, the dungeon designs are varied and open, some of the character kits are interesting. Most dungeons can be completed in about 10 - 12 minutes allowing for quick play sessions. The boss fights are intense and require you pay attention. That's the end of the positives for me. Starting with my largest complaint, there is no leaver penalty, if somone isn't having a good time they leave. Congratulations, now you're going to go sit back in queue having wasted your time. There is no minimap which you will instantly hate just a few times in a new dungeon. No dungeon journal means you have to look up info about the dungeons outside of the game. Gear feels meaningless other than what its ilvl is. The world of Fellowship doesn't make any sense either, why am I fighting these people, who are they, what do they want. I don't know any of that and the game has no desire to tell me. If you absolutely loved challenging dungeons in MMOs and hated every other aspect of the game, I could recommend this to that very specific audience. Other than that I don't see this game growing an audience but rather trying to maintain its current one. Final Score: 6.5 / 10 |
